Compatibility of blood groups for conception

Family couples who decide to acquire offspring rarely think about the compatibility of blood groups for conception, especially if after diligence they receive a positive result. And only in case of constant failures, it's time to think about the reasons. One of such failures is incompatibility of partners at conception. Incompatibility of spouses in the blood group and the Rh factor is a non-existent concept, because with any combination of pregnancy is possible. Another thing is that the combination of different blood groups and rhesus can complicate the course of pregnancy.

Compatibility of blood for conception

The main components of blood that affect the course of pregnancy are the blood group and the Rh factor (Rh). Ideal compatibility of blood at conception of the child - the same blood groups and Rh factors of both spouses, but this is not common. The most dangerous for the unborn child is the incompatibility of Rh factor during conception.

The Rh factor is a protein (antigen) that is on the surface of the red blood cell (erythrocyte), and people who have this antigen are called Rh-positive, and not having Rh-negative. If the mother has a negative Rh and the resulting embryo inherits a positive Rhesus, the maternal organism will start producing antibodies against the erythrocytes of the embryo (the erythrocytes of the fetus easily penetrate the mother's body through the placental barrier).

Such incompatibility between the mother and the child can result in miscarriage in the early term, intrauterine fetal death in a later period or the development of a hemolytic disease of the newborn. In hemolytic disease, fetal erythrocytes are destroyed, anemia occurs, the liver is enlarged and the bilirubin level in the newborn's blood increases.

The incompatibility of blood groups during pregnancy is much less common and manifests as a hemolytic disease of a mild-born infant.

How to lead a pregnancy with incompatibility by blood group and Rh factor?

If Rh-negative woman is planning a pregnancy, she should check the level of antibodies in the blood to the Rh factor. After the onset of pregnancy, from 7 weeks every month you need to monitor the level of antibodies in the blood before it ends. After childbirth, within 72 hours, it is necessary to introduce an antiresusive immunoglobulin, which prevents the formation of antibodies in the mother's body when the fetal blood is injected during labor.

Compatibility of partners for conception

The reason for the incompatibility of partners can be determined with the compatibility test for conception, which is called a postcoital test. This test is carried out in the phase of ovulation, subject to the following requirements:

To determine the compatibility of partners for conception, take a sample of mucus from the cervix, apply it between two slides and examine under a microscope. Determine the consistency of mucus, crystallization, extensibility and pH of the medium.

The estimation of motility of spermatozoa on degree from "A" to "G" is carried out:

Compatibility of partners for conception is absent with the degree of motility of spermatozoa "B" and "G"; thick, viscous, crystallizing cervical mucus with a sour nature of the medium.

If unsuccessful attempts to become pregnant do not despair, because modern medicine has a huge arsenal of means to help childless couples. Such methods as intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization will help infertile families solve the incompatibility problem at conception of the child and find the long-awaited baby.
