Flower «Female happiness» - leaves turn black

Many now on the windowsill you can find the flower "Women's Happiness" - in the scientific way. Until recently it was a wonder and it was believed that this exotic plant requires increased attention and scrupulous treatment. In part, it's true - caring for it is not complicated, but its overabundance can have a very negative effect on this delicate plant.

The main problem with lovers of spathiphyll with experience and without it is the situation when the leaves turn black, and the florist does not know what to do in order to help his pet. The first thing to do is to find out the cause of the "sickness" of the plant, and there may be several of them, all of them being careless.

Reason number 1

The flower "Women's Happiness" blackens the leaves in case of a strong and prolonged overflow. Particularly affected by this can plants that are planted in a pot without good drainage and in an unsuitable soil. The soil can be too heavy and retain moisture for a long time, and the absence of a good outflow from the roots leads to their decay and the development of a whole mass of pathogenic fungi.

When the leaves blacken at such indoor flowers as spathiphyllum and the plant looks as if it is about to die, resuscitation measures should be carried out - remove the flower from the pot, treat the root system with manganese solution and, if necessary, remove rotting roots.

After this, "Women's Happiness" should be planted in a fresh loose soil, and on the bottom do not forget to put the claydite of a small fraction. After this, the plant should be poured with a small amount of warm water, and the next watering should be done only when the top layer of the earth dries well.

Reason number 2

When the spathiphyllum turns yellow or leaves turn black, it is possible that the overly careful mistress "overfed" the plant with fertilizer. You can understand this when you do not complete the flower at all during a month. If fresh leaves do not deteriorate, then the matter is most likely in overfeeding, which should no longer be tolerated.

Reason number 3

A frequent cause of yellowing and darkening of the tips is too dry air in the room where the flower is contained. More often it occurs in the cold period, when the batteries dry out moisture from the air. "Women's happiness" responds well to regular sprinkling with warm, standing water, but if the room is cold, such care on the contrary can be fatal.

Humidify air and leaves only at normal or elevated temperature. In houses where there are spacious bathrooms, it is advisable to place plants that require high humidity on floor stands, if possible. So the flower will be comfortable, and the bathroom will acquire a unique look.
