Dog breed ODIS

ODIS is a new breed of dogs, which was first started breeding in 1979 in the club "Consensus", located in Odessa. The ODIS breed was the result of planned and spontaneous matings of a fox terrier, a French lapdog and a dwarf poodle . ODIS is a kind of abbreviation, deciphered as the Odessa Home Perfect Dog. The breeding took 25 years, and only in 2008 the Odessa breed of dogs ODIS was officially registered.

ODIS is the only dog ​​completely bred in Ukraine, which is rapidly gaining popularity among those who want to have a sweet pet.

At the beginning of the breeding of the ODIS breed, the dogs had a colored color, but in 2000 the cynologists divided the breed into two groups - spotted and white.

The breed of dogs ODIS - very young and so far few. There are about 150 representatives of the breed on the territory of Odessa, and around 300 in the world. Interest in the breed is manifested not only from nearby countries, such as Russia and Moldova, but also interested in ODIS, Israel, the United States and Germany.

Puppy ODIS can only be purchased from breeders. Mostly, the sale is made in the territory of Ukraine, but already in the nurseries of Russia there are representatives of this breed, and with a great desire they can be bought.

Care and maintenance of ODIS

In the family, ODIS is a common favorite. Equally gets along with all members of the family and quite comfortable feels with cats and other dogs. For ODIS there is no clear definition of the owner, for him all are equal. Nevertheless, if someone in the family gives him much more attention, then he will show more vivid feelings of love and affection.

Despite the fact that the coat of ODIS is quite thick and long, caring for it is simple. Due to its structure, the wool does not fall down and does not get stuck in the coils, is not afraid of moisture and is easily combed. To bathe the dog is recommended not more often than once every two weeks with a shampoo suitable for the type of wool.

Sheds ODIS twice a year, like all other dogs. But the owners of this breed will not be forced during the moulting of the pet to constantly walk behind it with a vacuum cleaner, as the coat of ODIS does not strew, but remains on the body and can be removed by combing your pet. The breed standard ODIS does not provide haircuts that are designed to change shape, so they remain fluffy cheerful lumps.

ODIS is a non-selective dog. If you do not have time for long walks - she will not insist. And if you decide to take a walk longer, you will not be capricious, but with pleasure you will run and take a breath of fresh air.

As for nutrition, it is important not to overfeed ODIS, however he looks at you with enamored eyes. The main thing is to provide a balanced diet with a set of necessary vitamins .

From the earliest childhood, ODIS is easy to train, very obedient, so if you properly brought up a pet, problems in communicating with it will not arise. The cynologists are planning to develop this talent for sports and training.
