Being in society, a person must comply with generally accepted norms. The degree to which he expresses this qualitatively, characterizes his cultural level of development. In case of deviation from the accepted norms, its behavior will be called deviant or deviant, and formal - criminal and, as it is called, delinquent.
Deviant and delinquent behavior of a person
These two types of behavior differ in that:
- the first - relatively, because it refers to the norms of the cultural nature of a single group;
- The second is absolute in relation to the norms established by the state.
For a more clear understanding of these two concepts, let us give an example. People who commit street robbery consider this their own, let's say, work, the way they make money, or, like Robin Hood of our time, are fighting, therefore, for justice in society. But there is a legal law, according to which, this action should be regarded as a crime, and this is no longer a deviation (deviant behavior).
In other words, deviant (deviant) - all those actions that are contrary to expectations, norms officially established, or years developed in a particular social group and delinquent behavior, which is considered to be socially divergent.
If we talk about this in more detail, then:
The term "delinquent behavior" refers to acts of the person that are unlawful, that is, those that deviate from the laws established in a particular society, but also threaten the life activity, well-being, social order of other individuals. In psychology, the actions of such a person are a delinquent person . is called
If the law is acceptable in the notion of delinquent behavior, then social norms and standards are in the deviant one, and in this case individuals are ready to resort to various means in order to achieve the desired. Such persons become either offenders or criminals.
