Confiture - recipe

Previously, the most common delicacy, which was prepared in all houses, was jam from plum , jam from apples and lemon jam , now this range of sweets has been replenished with confitures. They are also prepared from berries and fruits, and sometimes from vegetables and eat just like that, or they are added to pastries.

Confiture of oranges

Those who love citrus, like the recipe for orange confiture, which has a sweet and sour taste and unusual aroma.

Oranges are well washed and, using a needle or toothpick, make punctures all over the surface of the fruit (they should not be very deep and reach the flesh). After that, put the fruit in a deep bowl, pour cold water and leave to soak for 3 days. Do not forget to change the water 3-4 times a day.

Then peel oranges from the skin, trying to remove only zest, without touching the white part. Zedra at first cut into pieces 5-7 cm long, and then shred very thin straws. The white part is also removed from the fruit and cut into mugs, about 1 cm thick. Cut each circle into 4-6 parts.

In a bowl, add the zest, pour it with juice, squeezed out of lime, add oranges, fill it with sugar and leave for at least 12 hours. Then bring this mixture to a boil, reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for 30-40 minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool and leave to stand until the next day.

After that, repeat the same process two more times, add the liquor to the confiture (if you want) and spread it into clean glass jars. Keep the treat in the refrigerator under the closed lid.

Confiture of apples

Wash apples, peel and seed and cut into small pieces. Sprinkle a little sugar on them to let the fruit juice. Water pour into a saucepan, put it on the fire and gradually add sugar, stirring all the time until it completely dissolves.

In the same bowl, pour the apples, bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat and cook for 30-40 minutes, periodically removing the foam. Finished apple confiture pour into sterilized jars and close with sterilized lids.
