Cafe "Violets" - the famous landmark of Buenos Aires , one of the oldest restaurants in the city. The café hosted its first visitors in 1884. Today it has the kind that it acquired after the first reconstruction, carried out in 1920. After that, the cafe worked successfully until 1998. When it became clear that it needed urgent repairs, money was not allocated for this, and the cafe was closed. In 2001, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out, which was financed by the municipality of the city. The columns, the ceiling were restored, the facade was restored, after which the institution again opened the doors for visitors.

Cafe "Violets" in Buenos Aires, like several others, operates under the aegis of the municipality and is officially supported by state subsidized programs. Sometimes it is used by public organizations - for example, May Square grandmothers celebrate the birthdays of their grandchildren, who were missing or abducted during the military dictatorship (from 1976 to 1983).

The pride of the cafe are bright stained-glass windows, which it acquired as a result of the reconstruction of 1920. Their installation was conducted under the guidance of the master Antonio Estruch, who led the same work in the construction of the cafe "Tortoni", another metropolitan landmark (it is included in the TOP-10 most beautiful in the world).

Glass entrance doors have an unusual shape. As a floor covering used Italian marble. The furniture was ordered in Paris. All this has survived to the present day and has been carefully restored. Restorers in general very carefully reacted to the preservation of the external appearance of the cafe and its atmosphere. Perhaps, the only serious alteration is the creation of a separate toilet for disabled people.
