On the annual traditional matinees celebrating the New Year, our beloved children are recommended to be present in any suit. Well, Mom has to decide which suit to choose your favorite child and where to get it. Of course, the simplest option is to buy a ready-made carnival outfit or rent it. But since real needlewomen are not looking for simple ways, we suggest you create it yourself, for example, sew a children's carrot suit.
How to make a carrot suit with your own hands for a girl?
Agree that the version of the carrot costume for the girl must certainly be with a skirt. Does it look anything more elegant than a bright and magnificent skirt of tulle ? And, by the way, even a sewing machine is not needed for its creation. So, stock up:
- a cut of an orange tulle length of 2-2.5 m;
- wide elastic band 2-3 cm wide;
- scissors;
- thread with a needle.
- Cut the tulle into the same strips measuring 75x20 cm.
- Measure out the length of the waist at the daughter and transfer this measurement to the elastic band, adding another 2-3 cm.
- Fix the edges of the rubber band together with pins. Then put the elastic on the back of a small chair.
- We begin to form a skirt for the carnival costume of carrots: the strip of tulle is fixed on the elastic band with a knot, without tightening too tightly.
We continue in the same spirit on the whole circumference of the rubber bands. The more strips of tulle you attach, the more luxurious the skirt. - The ends of the elastic should be sewn together with threads.

The skirt can be decorated with a bow, a layer of fabric made of opaque fabric.
For the top of the costume, you just need to pick up an orange or green T-shirt or golf. If there is an inscription or a drawing in front, then they can be covered with appliqués in the form of carrots.
As a headdress, it is easy to use the hair hoop that the girl has. On it it is necessary to fix a carrot from colored paper or cloth.
It is not difficult to make an orange cap from a rectangular cut of orange fabric gathered on an elastic band. The upper part of the headdress is decorated with a "top" of green material.

How to sew a carrot suit for a boy?
If you have a son, his carnival costume will consist of an apron, representing carrots. So, prepare:
- orange satin length of 1.5 m;
- sintepon - 1,5 m;
- length of fleece or felt 20 cm long;
- Velcro;
- orange satin ribbon 2 cm wide.
- First, on the orange fabric we cut two identical parts of the apron, not forgetting about two straps in length of 30-35 cm and width of 7-9 cm. Due to them, the suit will be attached to your son.
- Open from the synthepone similar parts. Then fasten the parts of the apron from the satin and sintepon with the pins or the seam forward with the needle.
- Attach the workpiece to the sewing machine along the perimeter, retreating from the edge of 5 mm.
- Then sew both straps to the top of the apron.
- Attach the Velcro to the straps in places where they will then be attached to each other.
- Both parts of the apron-carrot are superimposed on each other by the reverse side and fastened with pins.
- Then we apply the details of the machine seam along the perimeter, retreating from the edge 7-10 mm. After the end of the work, carefully cut short the allowances by 3 mm with scissors.
- Then treat the edges of the apron along the perimeter with an oblique bake. Do not forget to attach Velcro on the straps.

Apron-carrot is ready! If there is a desire, decorate the front of the costume with strips of brown thread, characteristic of the vegetable, made with a "zigzag".
It remains only to create a cap for a carrot suit for a boy. We sew it from a rectangle measuring 50x20 cm, which is first embossed with a sintepon and decorated with brown stripes, made with a "zigzag". The rectangle is closed in the cylinder by stitching together short sides. The top edge of the cap should be sewn and sewed, and the bottom should be wrapped and processed on a typewriter. We decorate the resulting cap of the top, made of felt or fleece stripes.
