Monument of tango


Buenos Aires boasts a unique landmark located in one of its districts, Puerto Madero - the Tango Monument. Only the capital of Argentina can boast of such an unusual construction.

History of creation

Monument of tango was established here in 2007. It is dedicated to the incredibly popular dance direction in the country - tango. It's not for nothing that Buenos Aires is called the world capital of tango. The monument was built thanks to donations from various companies and ordinary people - passionate fans of the dance. The collection of funds lasted about six years.

The exterior of the monument

The material of the sculpture is stainless steel. The monument weighs about 2 tons. The shape of the monument resembles a huge bandoneon. This musical instrument, a kind of accordion, sounds in a tango orchestra. The height of the monument is 3.5 m.
