History
In fact, the story of an abandoned hotel in Bali is not so mysterious. Nobody lived in it - it becomes immediately clear when visiting Bedugul Taman: he not only does not live, but he is not completely finished yet. Some rooms do not have plumbing, no sockets.
According to one data, the hotel was built - and not completed - by a Chinese millionaire who, once resting here, just fell in love with these places. But when the hard times began in Bali (there were several terrorist attacks), he decided that the construction should not be completed, because no one will go to rest here.
According to other sources, the owner of Bedugul Taman was the son of the President of Indonesia , and he either ran out of money for construction, or (there is such a version), he was arrested and imprisoned for embezzlement.
The architecture of the hotel and its territory
The location of the abandoned hotel in Bali is very good: it is located at the very entrance to the city, next to a large mall and other benefits of civilization, and stands on a hill with stunning views of the mountains (including the Agung volcano ) and the valley. So if the hotel was completed, most likely, there would be no hindrance from tourists here.
The architecture of the hotel is traditional for Bali - it resembles Balinese temples with a lot of decorations. On the territory there is a small pond with a fountain, and many arbors.
The area is very large, and the hotel itself is also striking in its scope. It consists of 9 floors: 7 aboveground and 2 underground. On the roof was to be a restaurant. The uppermost floor is enclosed by a terrace.
The interior of the hotel seems luxurious even now, when the damage has already become visible. Guests are greeted by a huge hall and a luxurious reception. Marble floors, bas-reliefs on the walls, a lot of huge vases for flowers, statues - it is immediately evident that the hotel was designed for sufficiently well-to-do visitors.
The sinks in the bathrooms are made of marble slabs. The suites have an area of 220 square meters. m and even more. There are several large halls here, including the ballroom.
How to get to the abandoned hotel?
From Denpasar to Bedugul Taman it is possible to reach by car in hardly more than an hour. To go follows on Jl. Denpasar-Singaraja or by Jl. Raya Denpasar. It is simply impossible to pass by the hotel: it can be clearly seen from the road. In extreme cases, you can ask any of the locals where the "hotel with ghosts" is located.
In principle, a visit to an abandoned hotel is not worth a penny. But some tourists say that janitors who look after the place and sometimes sweep here take an "admission fee" of 10,000 Indonesian rupees (about 0.75 USD).
