Cultivation and care of an ampel bacock

The acquaintance of domestic florists with a bakop can not be called a long one: in the post-Soviet space it became known only in the mid-1990s and was called the "Sutera". Western landscape designers are friends with the bug-drinking bug for many years, with great enthusiasm using it for vertical gardening. And this is not surprising, because the bacon has an excellent feature - the ability to self-clean from faded buds. Due to this the plant always has a smart and well-groomed appearance. And if we add to this the prolonged two-stage flowering of the bacon, we get an almost ideal plant for the quick and maximum trouble-free decoration of any site. It is interesting that it is possible to grow a sutter both as an ampel and as a ground cover plant, because when it comes into contact with the ground, small roots are formed on its shoots. To make the ampel bakop feel well and enjoy the eye with the most lush flowering, it is necessary to observe only two conditions: to grow it in a well-illuminated place and use for this purpose a soil with a weakly acid reaction . In the rest, the care for an ampel bakop will include only regular watering, so that the land is constantly wet and periodic application of complex fertilizers. Wintering for this plant is organized in a bright well-ventilated room, at a temperature of not more than +10 degrees. At the same time, watering is minimized. If such conditions can not be organized, the plant can overwinter on any window sill. But you will have to apply a lot of effort to maintain the necessary humidity level: to carry out regular spraying from the spray gun, often watering, etc.

  3. A container for growing seedlings is best used with transparent walls, since additional lighting will serve as a seeding catalyst for their germination.
  4. After sowing seeds on the surface of well-moistened soil, it is recommended to cover the container with glass and place in a room with a temperature of at least +20 degrees.
  5. Grafting of seeds should be expected on the 10-14 day, if after this period no sprouts appeared, the sowing should be repeated.
  6. When two leaves are formed on the shoots, they must be dived into common boxes at a distance of at least 2 cm from each other. After this, you can make and the first fertilizing. Fertilizer for this is planted at 50% of the norm used for the adult plant.
