How to transplant a rose bush in the fall?

Autumn is the best time for transplant. But under certain circumstances, you can do this in the early spring. When asked if it is better to transplant roses in the fall, you can answer this way: it's better not to delay until later, otherwise your rose may not be able to survive the winter without having had time to take root in a new place. The best time for autumn transplantation is from the end of August to the middle of September.

Some gardeners want to reschedule the site in the summer, but in this case, during transplantation, you will have to sacrifice her peduncles and cut them for better rooting.

Ways of transplanting roses

There are several ways to transplant rose bushes, but only two of them are popular because of their effectiveness. It's classic and wet.

In any case, you first need to prepare a pit for a transplant. Its dimensions should not be less than the former, from where the bush is dug. On average, its diameter should be 60 cm, and depth - 45 cm. Dig it out and remove all the roots of the weeds, then let the earth settle for a while (brew).

As in autumn, transplant a rose to a new place in a classic way: for this you need to dig a previously cut bush, cleanse its roots from the ground, inspect them for damage, cut off unhealthy rootlets, and the remaining soak in a growth stimulant solution for 2 hours.

Planting is carried out in a previously prepared pit, at the bottom of which a hillock is made, along which the roots of the rose bush will be distributed. Water is poured into the pit, a layer of soil is poured on top of it to half of its depth, it is compacted well, water is poured again, and then the pit is completely covered up and again it is well rammed.

How to transplant the old roses in the fall by wet method: in this case the rose is transplanted together with an earthen lump. A lot of water is poured into the planting pit, while it is absorbed, humate or a tablet of heteroauxin is added and the bush is immediately placed. Again, you need to pour in the water and wait until it absorbs everything, dissolving the ground and deepening the roots of the bush. After that, the pit is filled with earth and well packed.
