Akhziv National Park

On the very north of the Mediterranean coast of Israel is the national park Ahziv, very close to Rosh-ha-Nikra. As a city, Ahziv (Israel) told and experienced wars, barbaric attacks. All this ridge was once part of the continent, but eventually went under the water, and now only the peaks rise above the sea. In the summer they become a haven of such a bird as a marsh tern.

The historical sights of the park are the ruins of the ancient city of Ahziv, which was mentioned in the Bible. There are also the ruins of the Arab village of A-Aib, and the remains of some structures of the Crusaders.

In the Achsiw National Park you can come by car, while on sightseeing it can be parked. On the beach there are two pools: deep and shallow, as well as picnic and rest areas.

Here you can also dive, although almost all the beaches of the park are stony. But this will not be a big problem if you wear gloves for the duration of the dive. On the shore, there, here there are puddles of dried salt, so the terrain resembles the shore of the Dead Sea. In addition to salt, there are also natural arches in the rocks.

Divers attracted the park Ahziv and its beaches, amazing underwater canyons and a sunken cruiser, which is located at a depth of 26 m. Tourists should take into account that the entrance to the beach is paid, and on the south bank it is forbidden to swim. The water here is much cleaner and more transparent than even on Tel Aviv beaches.

Here you can not only lie on a deckchair, but also take part in various festivals dedicated to music or yoga. Information for tourists

The Achziv National Park is one of the most romantic places in Israel. From April to June and from September to October, the following mode of operation is observed: from 08.00 to 17.00, and from July to August - from 8 am to 7 pm. The cost of the visit is set different, depending on the age, the number of people in the group.

On the territory there is also a snack bar, a restaurant, children's playgrounds are equipped. If there is a desire to meet the sunset and stay for the night, it should be agreed with the administration in advance. You can see all the beauty of the park from the side, if you ride on a miniature railway. The rails were laid during the British Mandate. One car is designed for 50 people, and the duration of the trip is 40 minutes.

How to get there?

You can get to the park in the following way: from Tel Aviv to the city of Nahariya by train, this is the terminal station, the journey time will be about 2 hours. Then you can take a bus or shuttle bus to Rosh-ha-Nykra, and then to Ahziv Park. If you go by car, you can take the highway number 4.
