On the territory of Estonia there are not many elevations that are suitable for skiing, but those that are present are equipped according to European standards. One of the most comfortable bases is the Valgekhobuzemyagi, which means "White Horse Mountain". The height of 107 m is located in the reserve of Kõrvemaa, where besides sports you can observe rare species of birds and plants. For athletes there is a slope, and a 28-meter observation tower is installed for safety.
History of creation
The ski base was established in 1997, and from that time gradually turned into a year-round regional wellness center. Buildings such as a stadium, a training camp in the open air and a hotel for 24 places were built. A special place was arranged for the breeding of fires.
What conditions does the base offer?
Snowboarders, skiers and freestylers try to fit on one ski slope, with a length of 180 m and with elevations of up to 30 m. It has only one branch, so in winter the organizers are building an additional snow park next to the track. Despite the fact that the beginning of the path is rather steep, at the end the route becomes more even.
On the track will be interesting for beginners and experienced skiers. Separately there is a route for tubing and skicross. For calm skiing there are two plain ski trails, 3 and 5 km long. At the same time, 2 km can be traversed by them at night, because this way is illuminated.
The Valgekhobuzemyagi mountain-skiing base also provides:
- services of experienced instructors;
- rental of equipment;
- skating on a frozen pond.
Individual children are allocated separate tracks, so you can not worry about their safety during the descent. Since the hill is located in the reserve, you can use the services of a guide and go on a sightseeing tour. For beginners skiers, as well as those who would like to learn how to ride a snowboard, there are separate classes.
Guests who want to make excursions are invited to walk along special paths, as well as to make a trek to the boulder of Rehessar, located 5 km from the center. In the vicinity of the center there is also an educational 4-meter trail of kamovoi field Magededa. A notable event of the center is the international ski race of Albu.
The most popular hiking trails include the 50 km long bicycle trail. The route is interesting because there is a water obstacle on the way, which must be overcome without dampening the night. At the 40th kilometer there is a swamp, which should be crossed over the boardwalk.
Infrastructure near the base
The base can be visited throughout the year, because in the summer it acts as a full-fledged recreation center. You can book a place for overnight in the nearest villages of Voose and Velta, which are located 10 and 7 km away from the base, respectively. Banquets are held in the main hall for guests and various dishes are offered. From civilization, no tourist will be torn off, because the building has internet.
The Valgekhobuzemyagi ski resort is a great place to improve your health and just relax. It will suit those who do not like large-scale resorts, then that the "Mountain of a white horse" is of a modest size. But at the same time the base is pretty well equipped for a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Thanks to Valgekhobuzemyagi, the novice will be able to smoothly enter the world of skiing. For vacationers it is suggested to use:

How to get there?
Getting to the base from Tallinn will most conveniently be by car, which can be left in a local parking lot designed for 200 seats.
