Cucumber - a culture that requires careful formation and a competent choice of tapestries. In fact, you can choose as a trellis any support that will allow you to grow a quality harvest. Typically, for the formation of bee-dusted cucumbers in the open ground, a trellis net is used, stretched over the supports, but for completely self-polluting hybrids, completely different methods are used. All this is briefly discussed below.
Scheme of cucumber formation
For the formation of bee-dusted cucumbers in the open ground, the grid is best suited, since it allows the plant to obtain maximum light and avoid the appearance of diseases. We will install the supports approximately every 1.5 to 2 meters. Then the net is stretched on the supports, and in the upper part a horizontal rack is attached, this will not allow the grid to fall under the weight downwards. Next, cucumbers are formed in the open ground on the trellis using the usual technology: in the first four sheets, the whole ovary is eliminated, then this side is not controlled and only the lateral processes are eliminated.
To form cucumbers with a bouquet type of fruiting on the trellis, another tactic is needed. Here our goal is to remove all the lateral processes practically to the trellis (now they are vertical single supports like a stretched wire). It is allowed to leave only a couple of shoots near the trellis. As the culture develops, we remove all the ovaries in the first four leaves, then we will be able to harvest only about the main stem, then go to the shoot zone.
But the formation of parthenocarpic cucumbers in the open ground and greenhouses occurs according to the scheme of the Danish umbrella. It will suit you when you need to form a plant at a certain height. According to this pattern of formation, up to the fifth leaf it is necessary to remove all shoots of cucumbers and fruits. From the fifth to the ninth it is permissible to leave one fruit in each sinus. Further, the number of fruits is no longer normalized. This formation of cucumbers in the open ground on the trellis allows you to get the maximum yields.
