In Russian there is still no strict distinction between the concepts of skill and skill. In the intellectual environment, it is generally accepted that skills are a lower category in relation to the concept of skills. But those who encounter pedagogical practice, on the contrary, are of the opinion that the skill is an improved degree of mastery of certain actions.

What is the difference between skill and skill?

Like the content of the concepts themselves, this is a very controversial issue. Some scientists believe that skills are the ability to carry out activities on a professional level, and skills only provide a basis for the formation of skills. Other scientists prioritize differently: the ability in their understanding is only the ability to perform an operation that precedes the skill - a more perfect stage of mastering a particular action.

There is another difference in meanings: skill is something acquired as a result of work, working on oneself, and skill is sometimes regarded as the development of natural inclinations and abilities. At present, the difference between skill and skill is blurred and has no clear boundaries.

Formation of skills and abilities

The skills and habits of a person can be in the process of formation (for example, when a girl is stretching to learn to sit on a string ) or be formed (when the same girl has already mastered such an action and knows how to sit on a string). The main thing here is the quality of the action, because you can also form an erroneous skill, repeating the wrongly performed action.

Thus, the generated skill or skill is an action that is performed in a specific way and with a certain quality.

Vital skills

Initially, practical skills and skills that are considered vital, were limited to a list of physical operations - walking, the ability to manipulate hands, etc. However, in our time, the basic skills and abilities that will be useful in life are much more extensive. Their list can safely include communicative qualities, the ability to handle electronic technology and much more, without which life in modern society if not impossible, it is very difficult. However, social skills at all times were considered significant.

Methods of forming skills and habits

Abilities, skills, skills, knowledge - all this can be acquired by a person in the process of educational and developmental activity. Now there is an opinion that the teaching of skills and abilities should be based on didactic principles, but taking into account the individual characteristics of each particular discipline. The technique by which a person gets a skill is considered effective if it allows to ensure a sufficient depth of mastering of knowledge.

If we consider a theory in which the skill is a part of the skill, then the technique of skill formation differs from the technique of skill formation:

  1. Skills are more complex than skills in their structure, so they require a flexible algorithm: some operations can change places, some fall out, others can be added to the final solution. That is why awareness of fulfillment is so important every action.
  2. The skill structure includes actions that have been worked out before automatism - that is, skills.
  3. In the case of skill, there is not one single right solution - there is always a choice between several most likely options.

Thus, the formation of a skill is bringing one particular action to automatism, and gaining the ability is the ability to analyze the situation and perform a sequence of actions, while drawing any skill as necessary. For example, if a person has learned to start a car and switch gears - it's a skill, and feel confident on the road and drive well as a whole - this is already a skill.
