By the way, in honor of this bird is named the currency of the state of Guatemala.

Sendero de los Quetzales is considered one of the best ways of spending time in this area and observing the nature of Panama and its rare inhabitants. How to get to Sendero de los Quetzales?

For this purpose, most tourists make an air flight to the city of David . The journey takes about an hour. From here, on a transfer, a taxi or a rented car, you need to get to the small town of Boquete , the nearest settlement near the Baru volcano.

The trail of Quetzal is considered to be of medium gravity, i.e. is available to older people and families with children older than seven years. But since this walk is long enough for a long time, it is recommended to go to it together with a professional guide. By the time the trail takes about four hours.
