Rheinpark Stadium


The Rheinpark Stadion or the Rheinpark Stadion is the largest stadium in Liechtenstein . Rheinpark is located in the city of Watsud , the capital of Liechtenstein . This is the only stadium in the Principality that meets the requirements of an international football organization.

History of creation

In the summer of 1997 the construction of the largest stadium in the country, under the direction of the architect Edgar Khasper, began. July 31, 1998 the grand opening of the stadium of a high European level took place. However, after visiting the Rheinpark stadium, the administration of FIFA and UEFA demanded the reconstruction because not all conditions of the organization were met. In 2006, investors from all over the world invested 19 million Swiss francs in the stadium and carried out a large-scale reconstruction of the stadium.

Modernity

To date, the Rheinpark stadium has four indoor stands where 7838 fans can be accommodated. In 2010, the matches of the European Football Championship were held here for junior players. Also Rheinpark is the training base of the football club "Vaduz".

How to get there?

The Rhinepark from Shana can be reached by bus 11 and 13 to Vaduz in approximately 10 minutes (7 stops). In Vaduz, take the bus number 24 from the carrier PostAuto Schweiz and go non-stop for about five minutes. Buses run every 10 minutes.
