In one of the developed European countries - Norway - tourists are attracted not only by a high standard of living, but also by the presence of original monuments of nature. One of such is the miraculous rock Preikestolen, known as the Chair of the Preacher. This is where ordinary travelers, as well as parachutists and climbers, aspire to get.

More about the rock

Preecostolen is a huge rock in Norway with a height of 604 m, which was discovered more than a hundred years ago: in 1900. The giant cliff has several names in different languages. In Norway, it is often called the "Preacher's Pulpit", but there is also the name "Pulpit Rock". The oldest name is Hyvlatonnå.

How to get to Prequestolen?

When planning an ascent, you must first decide how to get from Stavanger to the starting point of the route to Prekestulen Rock. Stavanger is the nearest town to the cliff in the Rogaland cemetery. From it by ferry, bus or car you will arrive about an hour before the stopping point of the Norwegian Tourism Association. There is also a large parking lot.

Bus routes run from May to October from Teu to the stop "Prekestulen". The bus schedule depends on the timetable for the ferry from Stavager. By car the best route:

The ascent to the rock and descent from it will take about 3-4 hours of time, and with poor physical preparation - a little more. The path is laid among various mountain landscapes, sometimes very steep, and the route is rather complicated. The initial mark is located at an altitude of 270 m above sea level, and the final point is 604 m. Note that on the passes the elevations are quite high, and the path passes through rocks and rocks. It is necessary to have comfortable shoes, clothes and a supply of water.

The distance of the route to one side is 3.8 km. You will pass not only along the path to the cliff and back, but will visit different high-altitude belts, where coniferous forests gradually give way to lichens and mosses at altitude. In winter, climbing is possible, but for unprepared tourists, a walk among the snows, ice and wind will be dangerous.
