Children under three years old are more likely to suffer from colds. Some babies get sick up to 12 times a year, that is, literally every month and pediatricians take them to the category of often ill children. Therapy of children of this group has its own characteristics. The range of drugs used to treat very small children is small. In addition, the duration and frequency of use of certain drugs with due regard to possible side effects are taken into account. Therefore, many doctors are trying to find alternatives to traditional medicines in the form of physical therapy and external agents.
The healing effect of essential oils was noticed by our ancestors back in time immemorial. They are used to create drugs for external use, which have significant advantages over those taken internally:
- when used correctly, the components of medicinal products are not absorbed into the blood and, accordingly, do not exert a pronounced general effect on the body. As a consequence, they have fewer contraindications and side effects;
- they allow the activation of the body's defenses without exposing them to chemical attack;

One of these drugs is ointment for children pulmeks baby. It differs favorably from its analogues in that, due to the simplicity and safety of the composition, it can be prescribed to children from the age of 6 months, while the vast majority of other ointments can be used no earlier than 2 years.
Smoothing pulmeks baby - indications for use
Ointment for coughing pulmeks baby is prescribed to babies at the age of 6 months to 3 years as an auxiliary remedy for upper respiratory tract disease:
acute and chronic bronchitis;- tracheitis;
- ARI, ARVI;
- colds.
Possessing a mucolytic and expectorant effect, pulmex baby is also effective in the common cold. It exerts a stimulating effect on the breathing process, slightly enlarging the bronchi.
Pulmeks baby - composition
The composition of the ointment includes three active substances:
- essential oil of eucalyptus tree - has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect;
- essential oil of rosemary - also has anti-inflammatory effect;
- Perunsky balm - has mucolytic and expectorant properties.
Pulmex baby - features of use
The ointment is rubbed until completely absorbed into the baby's skin on the breast and back along the center line, after which the top is put on a dry tight knit garment. It quickly penetrates the skin and leaves no traces of fat on the fabric. Do not apply it to damaged and irritated skin. Categorically it is not recommended to apply rubbing to mucous membranes.
Pulmex baby side effects and contraindications
As with many other herbal preparations, allergic reactions to the drug components may develop.
The drug is contraindicated:
- children under the age of six months;
- children with epileptic syndrome, including in the anamnesis;
- in the presence of hypersensitivity to substances contained in the ointment;
- if the baby's skin is irritated or damaged mechanically.
Also, do not use pulmex baby at a temperature.
It is not acceptable to take the ointment inside. If the child does swallow it, immediately wash the stomach and call for emergency help.
