Notte's disease in children

When a child appears in the family, the parents pay great attention to his health and carefully monitor his condition. As soon as the kid turns one year old, they can notice that the thumb on his hand is bent inward. This is the so-called Nott's disease, or as it is also called - a "snapping finger".

While the child is small, his growing tendon surpasses the development of the ligament. As a result, the tendon becomes narrower in the canal and the ligament begins to pull it. As the child grows, such a bundle only thickens and further pulls the tendon. When bending a finger, his joint begins to click . When the tendon does not have enough room for movement, the finger constantly remains in a bent position. This is Nott's disease (stenosing ligament) - a violation of the development of the ring-shaped ligament of the first finger.

Most often Knott's disease affects children between the ages of one to three years.

Knott's disease in children: causes

There are three points of view regarding the etiology of the disease:

Knott's disease in children: signs

This disease in a child is easy to diagnose, because all its signs, as they say, are obvious:

Treatment of Nott's Disease in Children

Treatment of the disease is carried out by conservative methods:

If the child is diagnosed with "Nott's disease", then in particularly severe cases an operation is shown that will forever solve the problem of a snapping finger.

Before surgery, X-rays must be performed to exclude diseases of the bone system.

The operation itself is simple and does not require the hospitalization of the child in a hospital.

The child may feel pain in the postoperative cicatrix for two months after the operation, but, as a rule, these are isolated cases. And only six months after the operation, the baby already does not remember that his finger did not unbend. If parents suspect the child of Nott's disease, then treatment with folk remedies is not carried out. Only conservative treatment or operative is shown.

At first glance, such a disease can scare parents when they see that the baby's finger is constantly bent. However, the treatment started in time leads to complete recovery in 100% of cases.
