From time immemorial until 2007, the state of Nepal was a kingdom. But after a popular uprising that lasted for several years, the king was removed from power, and the state declared itself the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

Customs Laws
Once at the customs, you need to be ready for a thorough inspection: Nepalese - the people are very meticulous, so that no one will be banned from importing and exporting items. So, the laws of Nepal are allowed to carry :
- personal things;
- up to 100 cigarettes or 25 cigars for persons who have reached the age of 18;
- 12 cans of beer or 1.5 liters of other alcohol;
- only 15 films for shooting;
- souvenir production;
- the currency can be transported in any quantity, but amounts over $ 5000 are subject to declaring.
It is strictly prohibited to import :
- drugs;
- military ammunition and weapons.
Export from Nepal is prohibited :
- jewelry and objects of cultural and historical value;
- national money of Nepal (Nepalese rupee);
- representatives of local fauna;
- drugs.
Laws on smoking
Since 2011, the law prohibiting smoking in public places has entered into force. For smokers who are not used to limiting themselves, this has become a serious problem, because for violation of the law, a fine of $ 1.5 is threatened. If you are caught in the wrong place for the second time, the fine will increase 100 times. You can not smoke in:
- airports ;
- hotels ;
- parks ;
- temples;
- government buildings;
- restaurants.

Nepal is not the state where, with starting capital, you can buy land, a house or a company. Legislation in this regard is very strict - the purchase of real estate for personal use and business is available only to citizens of Nepal.
