There are also purple tracks that are designed for cross-country skiing. To reach all descents it is possible by means of special lifts. There are about six of them. And for fans of night walks, there is a unique opportunity - skating at night.

Not far from the ski house Stryta lodge there are various shops, cozy cafes and even a hotel. Here you can rent ski equipment. And those who do not know how to ski, will be able to learn from trained instructors who teach at the school of skiing. In addition to the ski school, there is also a snowboard school. Therefore, every tourist will be able to master new sports. Classes can take place both in individual form and in collective. In general, this "winter" resort will be an ideal place for those who prefer active recreation.

The ski season on the slopes of Mount Khlidarfjal opens in late November and continues until early May. But, as already recommended by experienced skiers, the best snow is in February and March.

Directly from the ski resort, all tourists and holidaymakers can continue their fascinating trip to other attractions. Close to Akureyri there is the most popular dive site in the world of Iceland - the underwater volcano Strytan.

How to get to Mount Hlydarfjal?

To reach the destination, you can take a direct bus from Reykjavik to Akureyri. And then you need to change seats on a special ski bus. It runs from Friday to Saturday between the ski resort and Akureyri. If you want to get on your personal car, then you need to go, heading along the main road of the island to Hlydarfjal. You can also get there by plane from Reykjavik to Akureyri, and then by bus. In general, all the sights are easily accessible! Come and enjoy the amazing and unique nature of Iceland!
