Mosaic from a stone

Mosaic is a work of art, which means creating a drawing with the help of a set, arrangement and attachment to the surface of various materials. For the formation of images specialists use colored stones, smalt, glass, ceramic plates and other various elements.

In the mosaic draw not only properly laid out composition, but also a selection of stones according to their structure, color and size. Work on the mosaic of wild stone begins with drawing the picture on the surface. The contours of the pattern should be as simple as possible so that it is easier to fill the picture with the material. To fix the multi-colored elements, waterproof adhesive compounds are used. Details are glued to the substrate in turn - one after another. For quick alignment, the front parts must be fixed on the same plane. Volumetric mosaic made of stone does not require additional actions, such as grinding and polishing.

There are many varieties of mosaics in the form of stones: Florentine mosaic, Roman, Venetian and Russian. Between each other they differ in the way of a set of stones, as well as the types of materials used.

Mosaic stone is divided into these types:

1. Smooth and aged - polished mosaic gets shine and smoothness, and the antique method of aging, on the contrary, gives it a roughness.
2. Background and panel. In interior design, both a mosaic background cover and a picture panel are used. The background of a mosaic made of stone is created by using the same type of elements of the same color. This option is suitable for floor and wall cladding. The panel has a storyline, a concrete drawing. The mosaic panel is a completely unique carpet that can decorate any room.
