One of the best museums in Scandinavia is the Malmo Art Museum (Malmo konstmuseum or The Malmö Art Museum). It is located on the territory of an ancient city fortress, built in the Renaissance style and is the oldest on the whole peninsula.

The attraction was founded in 1841 and was part of the city museum in Malmö . Over time, it was divided into two parts:

The highlight of the exhibition are works of contemporary art created in the Nordic countries. They were collected by Hermann Gottthardts from 1914 to 1943, and then donated his collection to the museum. In total there are 700 exhibits.
Also, during an excursion to the Malmö Art Museum, you should pay attention to the exposition, which consists of 25 paintings and 2600 drawings. It was created by collector Carl Fredrik Hill. This is an outstanding Swedish landscape painter known all over the world for his works.

How to get there?
