For the preparation of soil use the land, pre-harvested from autumn, organic and inorganic components. The land should not be too over-dried or wet, there should not be clay in its composition. It is cleaned of weeds, larvae and worms and sieved. The earth must be decontaminated, for which one of such methods is used: freezing, steaming or calcination. Practically for any seedlings the following soil composition is suitable: 2 parts of the earth, 2 parts of organic material and 1 part of drainage. The acidity of the soil is reduced by means of lime or ash.

But at the same time, the soil composition is individually prepared for different garden crops. So, for an eggplant, cucumber, pepper and onions, this composition is suitable: 25% of the earth, 25% of sand and 30% of peat. If you want to grow cabbage, the share of sand should be increased to 40%. How to make the earth for seedlings of flowers?

Self-prepared soil for seedling flowers should contain such constituent components: 1 part of sand, 2 parts of compost, 2 parts of turf ground, 3 parts of peat.

Before the seeds are sown, the prepared soil mixture must be disinfected. Grind the soil with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dry it. It is recommended to plant seeds in the ground cooled to 20-22 ° C.
