Vedas - the philosophy of ancient India

The Vedas are written in Sanskrit. To regard them as a religion is wrong. Many call them Light, but people living in ignorance of Darkness. The hymns and prayers of the Vedas reveal the theme of who people are on earth. The Vedas set forth the philosophy of India, according to which man is a spiritual particle, located in eternity. The soul of man exists forever, and only the body dies. The main mission of Vedic knowledge is to explain to a person what he is like. In the Vedas it is stated that in the world there are two kinds of energy: spiritual and material. The first is divided into two parts: frontier and higher. The soul of a person, being in the material world, experiences discomfort and suffering, while the spiritual plane for it is an ideal place. Having realized the theory set forth in the Indian Vedas, man discovers the road to spiritual development .

In general, there are four Vedas:

  1. Rigveda . Contains 1 thousand hymns. Some of the songs refer to the time when Vedic religion was based solely on the forces of nature. By the way, not all hymns are related to religion.
  2. Samavede . This includes hymns that are sung during the sacrifice of Soma. Verses are in no way connected with each other. They are arranged according to the order of worship.
  3. Yajurveda . This includes hymns for all the rituals of sacrifice. This Veda of ancient India is half composed of poems, and the other part is sacrificial formulas written by prose.
  4. Atharvaeda . Here the verses are integral and they are located, taking into account the objects of content. This includes a large number of hymns that protect against the negative action of divine forces, various diseases, curses, etc.

All the ancient Indian Vedas consist of three divisions. The first is called Sahiti and contains hymns, prayers and formulas. The second department is the Brahmins and there are statutes for Vedic rites. The last part is called Sutra and includes additional information to the previous section.
