Hvoyniki in the country

Landscape design is not an easy task and requires not only imagination and artistic taste, but also a certain theoretical preparation. This is important, since it is important to consider not only their decorative value, but also the peculiarities of their growth and the possibility of proximity to other plants, as well as water bodies, country facilities, etc., when determining the location of certain plants on the garden.

It is not easy to master the science of registering a site, so many begin to gradually, combining the receipt of new information with practice. A good start in this case is the planting of conifers in the country. At first glance, it is not easy to decide which species of conifers to choose. But in fact, everything is simple - all these species for the middle band breeders derived from only three conifers: pine, juniper and spruce. The rest of their brethren simply do not take root in our climatic conditions.

In addition to the fact that the conifers are extremely unpretentious in matters of soil and lighting, they have a lot of other advantages that determine them a worthy place among the leading plants for landscape design. They are widely used to create alleys, wings, hedges, as well as all sorts of landscape compositions with conifers in the country. We offer a brief overview of their main species.

Landscaping of conifers

1. Mixborders from conifers.

Mixborders are modern variants of prefabricated, mixed flower beds. Most often they are dominated by conifers and shrubs. The key idea of such compositions is compactness and compatibility of various forms. Strictly undesirable in mixborders are wild-growing tall firs, junipers and thujas. Ideal for the embodiment of the idea will be dwarfed conifers in the garden: creeping junipers, narrow pyramidal thuja, spherical and dwarf spruce, yew, thuja, mountain pine. Next to them will perfectly look rhododendrons, dwarf spiraeas, stunted barberry, creeping cotoneaster, heather and so on. A good addition to the mixboarder will be bulbous flowers and ground cover plants. This combination is advantageous not only from the aesthetic point of view, but also quite safely in the agrotechnical aspects.

2. A flower bed made of conifers.

To create flowerbeds also use mostly small and compact conifers. In the basis of the composition, as a rule, the principle of the contrast of colors and forms is taken. For example, the column-shaped elements are well emphasized by dense creeping shrubs with an ivory of different colors and textures. For example, the needle cover of spruce, juniper and pine trees looks great next to the scaly pine needles. Only flower beds from slow growing and dwarf plants make up, ground-cover plants are recommended as a background, for example, crossbred or juniper microbiota.

3. Alpinarium of conifers.

The rock garden is a miniature imitation of mountains. Its essence is to create the impression that it was created by nature itself, without human intervention. That is why the conifers will fit organically into any alpine hill, because this is the only species of plants that can naturally grow in the mountains. The most successful plants for the rock garden can be fir subalpine, juniper Cossack, western thujevi, tuyvik drooping, cypress croissant, pine mountain, cedar stlanik.

Conjugate mix - how to care?

As already mentioned above, coniferous plants are rather unpretentious. However, when seedlings are planted in the soil, they can begin to drift off rapidly, as they are "spoiled" with shop soil substrata. In order to "cheer up" plants, it is necessary to add special fertilizing to the land or add soils from coniferous forests.

An important point of care and design is the pruning of conifers, which should be carried out at the end of summer or the first half of autumn in order to give the elements of the compositions the desired shape.
