How to choose a fabric for the letters-pillows?

For decorative cushions, the letters are suitable for almost any fabric that is only found in the household: flax, cotton, felt, fleece, wool or cloth upholstery fabric. The most important requirement for the fabric is sufficient density, because a pillow needs to withstand a lot during operation. In addition, the colored fabric should be persistent dyes, because the pillow will come in contact with the head and face, and unpleasant surprises in the form of multi-colored spots on the skin do not want anyone. Before opening, the fabric should be washed and ironed to allow it to shrink.

Where can I find the letters for pillows?

Stencils for cutting our sofa alphabet can easily be built independently. To do this, just select the appropriate font on the computer, for example, Adobe Gothic Std B and print the letters of the desired size. If the computer with the printer is not at hand, then we will draw the stencils for the letters-pillows by hand. It is important to remember that the cushions-letters with enough thick beams and small holes will look beautiful and neat. For example, with a pillow height of 25 cm, the width should also be about 20 cm, and the thickness of each crossbar is about 5 cm. 2. We transfer the pattern to the fabric. Since we will sew these pillows from soft felt, they will be sewn by hand with a seam "over the edge", and therefore allowances for seams are not necessary.
3. Cut out the blanks for the letters-pillows. For each pillow, you need to cut two pieces in a mirror image.
4. We proceed to sewing. We will sew the details of the pillow by hand, so we will choose for sewing thick enough threads of bright contrasting color, in our case red ones.
5. Sewing the details of the pillow, do not forget to leave the open area for stuffing our pillow.
6. We fill the pillow with a sintepon or other soft filler and sew the hole left for packing.

This way how to sew a letter-pillow with your own hands is very similar to the previous one. The only difference between them is that in this case the cushion fabric will be used cotton, and the seams will be made using a sewing machine.

1. We carry out patterns for letters-pillows. In this case, before opening, we must lay out the stencils for all the letters side by side in order to have an idea of ​​how they relate to each other.
2. We proceed to the cutting. For each letter-pillow we cut out two mirror parts, not forgetting the allowances for seams.
3. Fold the details in pairs in the front side inward and spend them on the sewing machine. Do not forget to leave the hole for stuffing.
4. We turn our pillow on the front side. To ease the task and make our product neat, we first dissect the seams in the corners and rounding places close to the line.
5. We fill the pillow with sintepon, holofayber or other artificial filler. Carefully distribute the filler throughout the interior of the pillow, avoiding lumps.
6. The allowances of the opening for packing are wrapped inwards and gently weighed.
