Each owner of a private house sooner or later wondered how to insulate the outer door in a private house . After all, in winter, the protection of the house from the loss of heat and drafts is very important. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of the reliable clothes of the entrance part of the house in advance.
There are many options than you can insulate the door of a private house . To do this, apply all kinds of heat and sound insulation materials, such as ordinary cotton wool, mineral wool, foaming resin or foam. The last three options are more suitable for metal structures. - sheets of foam plastic;
- mounting foam;
- a sheet of plywood 9 mm thick;
- silicone adhesive;
- knife.
How to insulate the street door in a private house with foam plastic?
- In this case, the door structure has stiffeners, located in the form of "windows". We pre-cut the foam into segments equal to the size of the cells on the door. In this case, it is desirable that their size is slightly larger, then the material will lie as tightly as possible, and do not have to spend too much foam on removing gaps.
- We put in the first upper cell along the perimeter and across several bands of mounting foam, we stick on it a sheet of foam plastic.
- Moving on, in the same way we apply the mounting foam to the surface of the door and insert the foam into all the cells. In this case, the gaps between the plates and the material are covered with foam, this will improve heat and sound insulation.
- After the work is finished, we leave our "coat" a little dry.
- Next, proceed to the door paneling with plywood. We chose the material most appropriate to the color of the door. In order for the sheet to hold firmly, we have installed in advance on the sides of the door the slats with a gap of 9 mm. Thus, we got a certain "pocket" into which we will insert the plywood. Cut out the sheet we need, we remove the door from the hangers and insert the plywood into the pockets, as if we are closing the pencil case.
- Now on the top of the door we put a layer of silicone glue and attach a metal edge, which protects the material from wear.
- Install the door in the opening and attach the handle.
- That's what we got. As you can see, it was quite easy and quick to insulate the street door in private.
