How to make a diaper from gauze?
There are three ways to sew a diaper from gauze:
1 way - "kerchief" : From the gauze cloth it is necessary to cut out a rectangle with sides, one of which is bigger than the other in 2 times. Calculate the size of gauze diapers fairly easily. For example, a piece of cloth with a length of 60 cm and a width of 120 cm is suitable for a newborn. For a baby 1-2 months it is better to cut a rectangle 80x160 cm. A three to four-month-old child needs a segment with a base of 180 cm and side walls of 90 cm. folded in half the fabric is given a square, the edges of which need to be processed manually with a suture seam or on the sewing machine by a zigzag or overlock on the perimeter. If the product folds obliquely, a triangle emerges - the so-called "kerchief". Place the baby on it in the middle, so that the long side lies against his waist. 2 way - Hungarian . There is another way how to fold a gauze diaper "kerchief" - Hungarian. To do this, the gauze diaper is folded in half twice until a square is obtained (1, 2). While holding the corners of the diaper, one of the free corners is pulled to the top (3). Turning the figure backwards (4), the upper layers of the diaper are twisted into the roller (5, 6). Now you can put the baby in a diaper the same way as with a "kerchief" (7,8,9).
3 way - "rectangular" : Gauze fabric is folded in several layers so that a rectangle with sides of 90X20 cm is obtained. To preserve the shape, the diaper should be sewn around the perimeter. Before you dress the gauze diaper, fold it in half along, thread the ribbon. Just put a rectangle under the child so that the fold of the fabric with the rope is located at the waist level. Fold the free edge of the diaper in front of the navel. You can wear a warm cloth (fleece) on top. Tie the string in front of the abdomen to the knot. Done!
