Is maternity capital at the birth of twins?

A joyful event - the twins appeared. After the holiday, congratulations and adaptation to a new life, often happy parents solve questions with registration of documents for newborns and, of course, turn to specialists, deciding whether the maternity capital is put at the birth of twins and how it is issued. Here there were some misunderstandings. Some believe that such help is given after the second birth, and if the twins are first born, then it is impossible. Others believe that if newborns have siblings, then the payment is put in double size.

Let's look at two cases: is the maternal capital given at the birth of twins, if these are the first or second births.

When the toddlers are the first-born, the above material support to the parents is laid. In this case, one of the children is considered the second child, and the payment is given for his birth. The maternal capital is put to the family for the second child.

If the family already had a first child before the birth of twins, then again one of the twins is considered the second. Material assistance in this situation is also paid in a single amount.

How is maternity given at the birth of twins?

To receive a payment, the Pension Fund must be provided with:

• statement;
• copy of the passport of the mother (papa in certain cases, stipulated by law);
• document on the birth of the second child;
• certificate of the composition of the family.

In this case, it is necessary that the following conditions are met:

• parents are not deprived of parental rights;
• Previously, the family did not receive maternity capital for another child;
• birth occurred from the beginning of 2007 and until January 1, 2017;
• parents (one of them) and the second child are a citizen of the Russian Federation.

Parents of twins spend their maternity capital also, as usual: for the purchase of housing, mother's pension, training three years after the birth of twin children.
