Reproduction of a fireball

To successfully breed a fireball, know that puberty comes in at 8 months. At fire barbs the female and male differ. The female is larger than the male, it is less slim and not so bright. Its color is from bronze to silvery-brown, the fins are colorless. At the beginning of the spawning period, it becomes noticeably fuller.

For reproduction of the fireball, 2 males and 1 female are planted from the flock and 2 weeks are intensively fed with live food. A female swims from 200 to 500 eggs usually in the early morning. Immediately after spawning, the producers should be returned to the common aquarium, and in the spawner, darken the walls and replace 50% of the water. After 1.5-2 days, fry appear, on day 3-4 the fry begin to eat and swim. Starting feed for fry: live dust, artemia, infusoria, small daphnia. The spawner requires filtration, aeration and water substitution.

After a few weeks, the fry is transplanted into the aquarium at least 30 liters, together with water from the spawning, and after 3-4 weeks into the common aquarium.
