- boiled water at room temperature;
- gauze (bandage);
- polyethylene;
- cotton cloth.
The drug immediately before the procedure should be diluted with water in equal amounts (as a rule, for one joint it is enough to take a tablespoon of Dimexide and dilute it with a tablespoon of water). Impregnated with the obtained solution of gauze, folded several times, is applied to the diseased joint, from above is covered with polyethylene and a layer of tissue that can be fixed with a bandage.
To strengthen the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect for arthrosis of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and other joints, compress with Dimexid on diseased areas is done with the addition of Hydrocortisone and Novocain. In order to prepare a solution for impregnating gauze, then the ingredients should be mixed in such quantities:
- Dimexide - 50 ml;
- Hydrocortisone - 2 ml;
- Novocain (2%) - 30 ml;
- water - 30 ml.
How much to keep a compress with Dimexid on joints?
Compresses with Dimexide should be applied for 20-50 minutes a day, no more. The entire course of treatment can be 10-15 daily procedures, after which, after making a mandatory two-week break, it is repeated if necessary. During the procedure, in addition to an easy feeling of warmth, there should not be any uncomfortable sensations, such as itching, tingling, burning.
