Many parents, responsible for their status, are concerned about the issue of cold sweating in the child. Since there are many reasons for this phenomenon and there are many serious diseases among them, anxiety is justified. In this article, we will understand why a child can have a cold sweat and what should be done to parents who have encountered such a problem.
Sweating in healthy children
Among the reasons why a healthy child can wake up in a cold sweat, we can note:
- too soft and warm bed;
- very warm room temperature, in which the child plays or sleeps.
Intensified perspiration can be observed in very active toddlers, constantly in motion.
To eliminate these reasons or exclude them from the list of possible ones, you must:
- going out, dressing children in the weather;
- maintain the temperature of the air in the house at a level of 18-20 degrees;
- choose appropriate bedding.
Sweating of children with diseases
If any of these reasons were present and was eliminated, and the child still throws into cold sweat, there is only one thing - to consult a specialist, because excessive sweating can be a sign of such diseases as:
- rickets;
- hyperhidrosis;
- heart failure;
- hyperthyroidism;
- lack of vitamin D;
- acute respiratory diseases.
In these cases, the child may have other symptoms besides cold sticky sweat at night and in the daytime. In the case of colds and infectious diseases, the child's sweating may persist for several months after he has suffered it.
If the child is completely healthy, and the cold sweat still acts on different parts of the body, do not worry. Most likely, the child is very emotional and thus shows his excitement, anger or joy.
