For the prevention of convulsive syndrome, Cavinton is administered intravenously: 8-10 mg per kilogram of child weight per day in a 5% glucose solution. After two to three weeks, the drug is taken inside at the rate of 0.5-1 mg per 1 kg of the baby's weight.
To treat perinatal CNS lesions, the solution is also administered intravenously: it is diluted in glucose or in 500 ml of sodium chloride solution. The initial dose is one or two ampoules (10-20 mg). In this case, the drug is injected drip and very slowly, jet intravenous administration is not allowed.
Cavinton: contraindications and side effects
Do not use a nootropic remedy in the following cases:
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- Children under 18 years of age (as there was no accurate data on the effect of the drug on the child).
When taking the drug, there may be the following side effects:

- lowering blood pressure;
- general weakness;
