When can I bathe my baby when I cough?
In modern medical practice, doctors believe that bathing during a disease with a symptom such as a cough will provide the child with a speedy recovery, unless the baby has a fever or bed rest. This is due to the fact that washing in a bath is able to heat a crumb, and the fumes inhaled by it will dilute the sputum accumulated in the bronchi, thereby facilitating the cough. Therefore, the answer to the question whether it is possible to bathe a child with a strong dry cough without temperature will always be unambiguous - you can.
Bathing rules for children with a cough
There are a number of recommendations that will help parents to do the washing procedure in a tub of a safe-for-health baby. For children over one year of age, they are as follows:
- The temperature of the water in the bath can be several degrees higher than usual;
- a few drops of aromatic oils of antiseptic and antibacterial action can be added to the water;
- in the bath should not be cold, and the doors must be tightly closed to avoid drafts;
- the first bath after the illness can not exceed five minutes;
- after the bath, you must wrap up the baby and put him in bed under the blanket for 10 minutes.
To get an answer to the question whether babies can be swallowed by coughing, doctors always try to convince their parents to cure the crumb until they are asymptomatic and only after that take a bath. After all, at this age the immune system is still weak, and any careless action with an untreated cold, not to mention bronchitis, can cause a number of complications. However, if a decision is made that you can bathe a little child, then for children from birth to year there are also a number of rules, adhering to which, you will deliver crumbs not only a lot of fun, but also help them to get rid of a cough faster:
- the water temperature should be 37 degrees;
in the bathroom there should be no drafts, and the temperature in the room should be 25-26 degrees; - The first bath after the illness should not exceed three minutes;
- After bathing the child to wrap and give warm up, after which dry wipe, dress and put to bed.
So, is it possible to bathe a child when coughing, both as a residual and at an earlier stage, is the answer: can (in the absence of temperature or bed rest). However, if there are doubts, then do not rush, put the bath for several days, it is unlikely that this will be any harm.
