Auto-watering of indoor plants

Do you like indoor flowers and have a huge amount of your house? But, how to be with them, when it is necessary to leave the house for quite a long time? Of course, you can enlist the support of neighbors or relatives, but sometimes they can be bad helpers and just ruin your "green pets". Do not despair, the output can be found by using one of the ways to autoplate indoor plants.

How can I ensure the autoplay of indoor plants?

In modern specialized stores, there is a huge number of different devices for irrigation.

Self-cleaning pots

The pot consists of two containers, which are separated by a special layer - a drainage substrate. In the upper tank, the plant is planted in the soil, and the bottom is poured with water, which, if necessary, absorbs the plant through special ropes. This mechanism is additionally equipped with an indicator of water, so you will know exactly how much water remains in the pot and whether it needs to be topped up. However, there is one disadvantage - a flower can not receive water on its own until its roots grow to a sufficient depth and can reach the wet layer.

Ready-to-use automatic watering system for indoor plants

This device is a container with water with a large number of thin tubes and a program control that provides water delivery at specific intervals.

Spheres for indoor watering plants

Externally, this device looks like a spherical bulb with a watering pipette, which is filled with water and inserted into the soil of the flower pot. When the earth begins to dry up, oxygen will enter the stem of the bulb, thereby pushing out as much water as the plant needs. Balls for watering can be plastic and glass.

Nozzle for a bottle for indoor watering plants

The simplest and less costly solution is the purchase of a special nozzle on the bottle, which is immersed in the soil for 2-3 cm and provides a slow flow of water into the pot with the plant.

Auto-watering of indoor plants with their own hands

It should be noted that it is possible to get out of this situation with a minimum of costs, having made such devices themselves.

How to make autoplay by yourself?

To create an automatic irrigation system we will need ordinary droppers, which can be bought in any pharmacy, and a large capacity, for example, a five-liter bottle of water. The number of droppers depends on the number of indoor plants, based on one per pot.

  1. Remove the needles from the tips of the droppers and check for integrity (the dropper should be blown in both directions).
  2. The ends of the droppers, on which there was a needle, are fastened together with wire and weighed heavily, while not touching the tube. This is necessary for the ends to lie quietly on the bottom of the container with water and do not float up.
  3. The container with water is placed on some elevation and we lower the ends of all droppers into it.
  4. We open the regulator on droppers, putting water in the tubes, and immediately shut off the flow regulator.
  5. The second end of the dropper is stuck in a pot of flower and gradually open the flow regulator.

It should be noted that this method of auto-watering is better to check in advance, since excessive moisture as well as its complete absence, detrimental to even the most unpretentious indoor plants . Therefore, first experiment and use the regulator on the dropper to determine the required water flow rate relative to each flower.
