Volumetric paper application

Applications are flat and bulky. Flat applications are very simple in performance: you need to cut out the colored paper from the figure and glue them in the appropriate order. This kind of creativity is available to kids, starting from 1.5-2 years. For older children, flat applications are no longer so interesting. Much more fun to create your own hands voluminous images. Using the technique of voluminous paper application, you can decorate the room, make a handmade card, create a picture and even a real picture! In this article, you will find three mini-master classes with illustrations that will help you master the simple technique of voluminous applications for children.

How to make a volumetric application of colored paper?

I bring to your attention a small master class on the creation of a three-dimensional application.

  1. As a background, take a sheet of double-sided paper of light green color. For petals it is better to use paper of contrasting color, for example, orange. Cut it into squares measuring 5x5 cm (40 pcs.).
  2. Fold the square into the cone and gently join the joint. Turn all the paper squares into cones, and then lay them out in a circle. For convenience, you can draw a pencil circle on the background sheet.
  3. Fold the petals in rows until you have a truncated cone. Insert four lobes almost vertically into the center. Here is such a large three-dimensional flower you should get!

Volumetric application of napkins

You can create compositions not only from colored paper, but also from a variety of improvised materials. These are napkins, cotton wool, cereals, and cloth. But, since the topic of our article is still a three-dimensional application made of paper, we will stop on the variant with paper napkins.

  1. For the application with napkins we will need the original picture - that's such a merry little sheep. It can be printed on a sheet of colored paper or simply drawn by hand.
  2. Take the usual single-layer napkin, tear or cut it into long strips. And we twist each strip in this lump. It does not have to be smooth, on the contrary - the more irregular its shape, the better, because in nature there is no symmetry.
  3. Such lumps will need to be done a lot - so that they completely cover the background of the lamb body. Make a certain amount, and then start gluing. If the lumps are not enough - they can always be quickly finished using the remaining napkins.
  4. So, we glue the body with the glue and the "haircut" of the lamb, and carefully place the napkins on them.

This kind of application will be of interest to babies as well, since it does not present any special difficulties. On the contrary, it will benefit, since working with napkins, namely, tearing and rolling, perfectly stimulates the small motor skills of the child.

Three-dimensional application of corrugated paper "Unusual flowers"

Flowers are a favorite element for many, often used in various needlework techniques due to their beauty, brightness and variety of species. Let's try and make an applique with carnations.

  1. Cut out corrugated paper, folded in several layers, the corresponding number of circles 5-6 cm in diameter. Make small cuts along the edges from all sides, and in the center using a stapler we attach the same "set" of circles of light paper or usual napkins.
  2. Now the middle must be properly fluffed, so that it will acquire volume.
  3. The same is done with blue paper - we raise it, then we separate the petals.
  4. Make a few of these colors, you can of multi-colored paper, and glue them on the base - dense cardboard. Do not forget to decorate and stalks of flowers - this is suitable for green corrugated paper, which must be twisted into a tube.

Volumetric application is an excellent option in the kindergarten or school. This kind of needlework can be practiced both in the team and independently. We wish you creative success!
