Vigutta spiraeus - planting and care

Spirea is a highly decorative shrub with beautifully curved thin long branches and abundant flowering. The people of spirea are also known under the name "tavolga". From the scientific point of view, such a name is erroneous, because representatives of the genus of the Tavolga only resemble spiraea in appearance, but are herbaceous rather than shrubby.

In this article, we will talk about one of the varieties of spiraea - the wangutta's spirits and the peculiarities of her planting and leaving.

Vangutta Speedway: description

Spiraea gray wangutta is a hybrid between sphiera Cantonese and spirea trilobate. Externally, the plant looks like a rounded decorative shrub with long thin branches, beautifully curving downwards, which is often used to create hedges . The average height of the bush is 15, -2 m. Leaves cogged, obovate, bare. They can be three- or five-bladed, up to 4 cm long. The upper surface of the leaf is dark green, the lower one is bluish, and in autumn the leaves are painted in a red-orange hue.

Numerous hemispherical inflorescences are located along the entire length of the branches. Flowers can be of different colors (depending on the variety), their average diameter is 0.6 cm.

Planting spiraea wangutta

The choice of the planting time for spirals depends on the time of its flowering. Spirea can bloom in spring (April-May), in summer (June-July) or in autumn (August-September). Spring-spring varieties are transplanted in autumn, after the leaves fall completely. Autumnnetting varieties of spirits are best replanted in the spring, but it is necessary to do this before the leaves blossom. Letnetsvetuschie varieties can be transplanted both in spring and in autumn. The main rule is to transplant a spiraea without leaves - either after they fall down, or before blossoming.

Because spiraea is able to give enough shoots, so make sure that the ground part and the root system are proportionate during the transplant. With weak roots, cut off excess branches, and with an overgrown root system, dilute it.

When transplanting spiraea, take care of sufficient moisture. If you transplant a bush with a closed root system, be sure to carefully pour the earthen with water (you can even soak the roots for several hours in the water). Later, watering the spire is not required - she will find water on her own. Fertility of the soil is not a key requirement for this plant - the spiraea grow well even on poor soils.

It is better to plant bushes on sunny areas, at the extreme, in the penumbra. The lack of sunlight affects the decorative spirea - flowering will not be so abundant.

Vanguette spiraling: pruning

A few years after planting, shrubs may require rejuvenation. The need for such a procedure is very simple to determine - you will notice the exposure of the branches, their drying out, and the inflorescences begin to crumble. In this case, you should cut off the branches "on the stump" - as close to the ground as possible. The procedure, though radical, but very effective - after it spiraea is at times more attractive.

Like most decorative shrubs, spirea also needs regular hygienic pruning - every autumn, remove damaged, diseased or ugly branches.

Vangutta spiraeus: reproduction

Spiraea Vangutta has two ways of reproduction: cuttings and seeds. The first method is much more common and convenient, because the germination of seeds often does not reach and 5%.

For cuttings use summer semi-aged cuttings. They are planted in a substrate of sand and peat (1: 1) and placed in a greenhouse with a high level of humidity. Next year (in spring), young plants dive into separate boxes.
