Analogues of Utrozhestan
The term analogue should be understood as preparations that have the same international nonproprietary names or one ATC code. For example, the analogue of Utrozhestan is sometimes called Dufaston and this is not entirely true. These medicines have a similar effect, but differ in composition. The first is a natural progesterone, and the active component of Dufaston has a synthetic origin. But both drugs are successfully used in therapy.
There are analogues of the drug Utrozestan, which have the same active components as:
- Endometrinum is a vaginal tablet that should be used 2-3 times a day as prescribed by a gynecologist;
- Krinon - is produced in the form of a vaginal gel or applicators for insertion into the vagina;
- Projestogel - gel, the properties of which are due to the content of progesterone;
- Prozhestin - another analogue of Utrozhestan, which is available in the form of a gel;
- Prajisan - is available in capsules for oral administration and for the vaginal route of administration, as well as in the form of a gel.
All these medicines have the same active active substance, but if there is a need to replace one with another, it is best to consult your gynecologist. He will give recommendations based on his professional experience and based on the characteristics of the woman's health status, as well as contraindications to the medicine. The doctor will choose the treatment regimen, the correct dosage and the frequency of administration. If side effects are noted, the doctor will be able to change the dose or he himself will offer to replace the medicine.
