The history of this educational institution began in 1610. At that time the Jesuits answered for the science and spiritual enlightenment of the country. It was thanks to them that the following institutions were opened in the city:

Later, the university moved to the office of the Order of the Franciscans. In 1800, he received the status of a papal university. Twenty years later, the University of Cordoba became provincial, and in 1856 - already national. Now this educational institution prepares specialists in 12 areas.
