The Oran Zoo is a veritable wildlife park located 20 minutes from the airport in Christchurch . To date, the zoo is a private property of the charity Orana Wildlife Trust. And for the first time he opened his doors in 1976.
What to see?
The Oran Zoo is a paradise with an area of 80 hectares. It is interesting not only to kids, but also to adults, and all because it is the only open-air park where there are more than 80 species of birds, mammals, reptiles. In Oran you can see tigers, turtles, giraffes, meerkats, kiwis, buffaloes, Tasmanian devils, otters, lions, rhinoceroses, kea and many other fauna.
The most courageous visitors decide on an excursion to that part of the park where predators dwell. Do not worry: walk is carried out in a small safe for your life van, with a kind of reminiscent of a cage.
