Coconut - more recently was a completely exotic product, and was associated with adventure books that tell of brave travelers, savages, distant islands, etc. Now this product, first in the form of "heavenly delight", and then in kind, has reached us, mortals. What kind of "fruit" is this? Is it useful for us? Still, not the usual cucumber or hazelnut ...
The use of coconut for the body
Well, let's start with the fact that this product of the eponymous palm tree is not a nut, but rather a bone of the fruit, containing a sweetish liquid (coconut milk) inside itself first, and as it ripens, a sweet mass (the very paradise pleasure). Mature coconut is so dense shell that a very long time it does not erode even such an aggressive environment, like sea water, successfully coping with steel ships. And a nut that has ripened and fallen from a palm tree can long travel across the seas - along the waves, and, landing somewhere on an uninhabited island, give life to a new palm tree. On many tropical islands (for example, in the Maldives) coconut is almost the only, in addition to seafood and fish, a means of existence of natives. They even bake bread from it and make butter - for them the use of coconut is obvious, because it is food.
About the use of coconut, we will tell the composition:
- coconut contains a whole bunch of B vitamins, useful for the eyes, brain and heart;
- contains magnesium, iron, manganese, copper, as well as easily digestible iodine, useful for the thyroid gland and metabolism .
But the thyroid gland is one of those organs that helps us burn fat and promote weight loss. It is here that the use of coconut is manifested when losing weight - it helps us to normalize the hormonal background and speed up the metabolic processes. The benefits of coconut are obvious, but it is high in calories: 100 grams - 350 kcal, and coconut milk - 230 kcal. So try to eat a little ... still, the coconut is not the usual cucumber, neither in composition, nor in energy value.
