How to get to Bormio?

You can reach your destination in three different ways. The nearest airport from Bormio Orio al Serio is located in Milan at a distance of 180 km. A little further there is Malpensa - 236 km. There is another option - to get from Switzerland. The nearest airport to Bormio is in Zurich: the distance is about 207 km.

You can get there by train. If you flew to Milan, then you need to sit on the central railway station on the train that follows Tirano. There is also a direct train from St. Moritz (in Switzerland). Already from Tirano go buses to Bormio.

Bormio ski resorts in winter run buses from Milan and Munich from airports. If you decide to get there by yourself, then from Milan you need to go to the bypass road A54. Then drive to the Lecco-Monza exit on ss36, and there you will see the ss38 exit to Bormio.

Its popularity has been relatively recent. When in 1985 they held the world championship in skiing on mountain skiing, this place was started to speak and tourists were stretched. And in 2005, when it again became the venue for the championship, we carried out a complete upgrade of the ski lifts, now you can evaluate ski and snowboard slopes.

But not only the renovation of equipment and complete modernization have caused the popularity of these places. Thermal springs Bormio is not the last reason to visit the resort. Nine mineral springs have a constant temperature of 37 ° C in summer and 43 ° C in winter. Water is never heated additionally and no additives are added.

Skiing in Italy - what does Bormio offer?

Now let us return to the question of ski holidays. On the Bormio circuit, three skiing areas are designated: Bormio 2000, Le Motte-Oga-Valdidentro and Santa Caterina-Valfurva. Most of the tracks are designed for the average level. For more experienced skiers, the trails where the World Cup is held regularly are of interest. If you are just getting acquainted with the skis, you will be approached by wider and gentle slopes, there are a lot of them in the resort.

The Bormio 2000 zone on the Bormio circuit is located on the slope of Mount Cima Bianca, about 700 m from the center. There you can also ride a snowboard, and the route is intended for beginners. This zone of skiing is often used for competitions in downhill and slalom.
