Signs of ureaplasmosis in women

The vaginal flora of women is inhabited by various microorganisms, including opportunistic and, in particular, ureaplasma. Such microbes live in the body for life, and their carrier at the same time, can feel perfectly healthy. However, taking a course of antibiotics, hormonal drugs, severe stress and reducing overall immunity for any other reason, can trigger an increase in opportunistic pathogens, leading to unpleasant and even dangerous consequences.

Speaking about ureaplasmosis, we mean an inflammatory process in the urogenital system, in which an increase in the number of ureaplasmas was detected in the results of the tests, and no other pathogen of infection was detected. This disease has a predominantly sexual mode of transmission, including during anal and oral sex; can also be passed on to the child from the infected mother during childbirth.

Symptoms of ureaplasmosis

Often, even if there is inflammation, there may be no signs of ureaplasmosis in women for a long time. And yet, 2-4 weeks after infection, there are usually common symptoms that are characteristic of all sexual infections:

All persons living sexually, it is necessary to take an annual test for ureaplasma and other sexually transmitted infections (sexually transmitted infections ). Even in the absence of ureaplasmosis symptoms in women, treatment of this infection after receiving positive tests should be started immediately, especially during pregnancy. When infected through the birth canal from an infected mother, the symptoms of ureaplasmosis in newborn babies will be erased, possibly only the presence of scant excretions from the urethra or vagina.
