  5. Rhododendron is the largest - a spectacular, very spreading bush, capable of reaching a height of 1.5 meters and a width of 6 meters.

Deciduous frost-resistant rhododendrons:

  1. Rhododendron Canadian - grows on the eastern part of the North American continent. It is a branchy shrub which has approximate dimensions of 1 * 1 meter. Flowers are collected in inflorescences of 3-7 pieces.
  2. Rhododendron Kamchatka - in nature prefers mountainous slopes of the sea coast. It is a small shrub up to 40 cm in height, covered in May of medium size (up to 4 cm in diameter) with bright red flowers.
  3. Rhododendron yellow - grows in the forests of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia. It is a branchy shrub up to 4 meters high and up to 6 meters in girth. Yellow small flowers are collected in umbellate inflorescences.
  4. The Japanese rhododendron is a shrub up to 2 meters high, having a very sprawling crown. Forms very large flowers (up to 8 cm), which are collected in inflorescences of 6-12 pieces. In nature it occurs on the slopes of the hills on the islands of Japan.
  5. Rhododendron Shlippenbach - most often it can be found in Japan, Korea, as well as in the southern regions of Primorye. Medium (up to 1 meter), a broad-bush shrub covered in spring with eight-centimetric soft pink buds.
  6. Rhododendron puhkansky - lives in Korea and Japan. It is a short shrub (up to 0.5 meters in height) with a wide and dense crown. In May-June it is covered with large flowers collected in inflorescences of 4-5 pieces.
  7. Rhododendron Vazeya - shrub height of about 2.5 meters. In nature, it lives in the mountainous regions of North America. Blooms in May-June, pink flowers with small specks. It is widely used as a starting material for breeding new varieties of rhododendrons that are characterized by high winter hardiness.
