Ratio of LH and FSH - norm

During the receipt of the results of tests for hormones, many women hear the phrase: you have a small difference in the ratio of LH and FSH. Do not be scared! Let's see what this can mean.

The normal ratio of FSH to LH is the full development and excellent health of the entire reproductive system. If the indices of LH and FSH differ from the norm, then it is worth considering.

FSH and LH in normal women mean the difference between them in 1,5-2 times. This ratio of LH and FSH throughout the life of women can vary insignificantly. Such fluctuations depend on many causes and characterize the following periods of life:

  1. Childhood.
  2. The beginning of maturation.
  3. Menopause by age.

The ratio of LH to FSH can signal the presence of various diseases - usually if LH is greater than FSH.

The absence of hormonal problems is indicated by a blood test, if a normal ratio of these two components is observed.

FSH and LH are the norm

The indices of FSH and LH are measured in the ratio. To determine the coefficient of difference between these two hormones, LH should be divided into FSH. Depending on the presence or absence of puberty, the indicators are completely different:

  1. Before puberty - 1: 1
  2. A year after the beginning of ripening - 1,5: 1
  3. Two years and up, right up to menopause - 1.5-2.

In case the difference is 2.5, it indicates that the woman has deviations. These include various diseases in the reproductive system, as well as anomalies in the body: for example, short stature. The most normal ratio of LH and FSH is 1.5-2.

The hormones FSH and LH are analyzed for 3-7 or 5-8 days of the menstrual cycle. It is very important not to drink, not eat or smoke before giving this analysis.
