Ragdoll breed was bred in the US, and the name received for a special love for human embraces, in which the cat is so relaxed that it becomes like a rag doll (reg dollar from English).
Ragdoll Description
Ragdoll cats have blue, large, oval eyes. The intensity of the iris is different, but bright eyes are most valued. Half-long, does not fall down, almost does not require care, it is easy to comb. Around the neck and along the edges of the muzzle, the wool is longer, forming a kind of collar. The tail is long and with a long thick coat.
The peculiarity of ragdoll wool is that because of the very small undercoat molting of these cats is a rare phenomenon. Even in the moulting season, in spring and autumn, ragdoll cats do not lose as much wool as cats of other breeds.
The head is wedge-shaped, with a developed chin, short wide nose, thick, prominent cheeks. Torso long, legs strong, paws of rounded shape, with hair between fingers. The musculature is well developed.
Color is possible in three versions:
- Color color point: light body, light paws with dark spots, dark tail and ears.
- Color bicolor: the body is light, the ears, tail and muzzle are dark.
- Color mitted: very similar to the color point, but the front paws are white ("gloves"), white is also the breast and the lower jaw.
Kittens of the ragdoll breed are born with a white color, to two years they acquire chocolate, blue or lilac color. Only by the age of three the color of the skin of the kittens of the ragdoll is finally established in accordance with the breed standards.
Character
Ragdoll cat has the character of a real phlegmatic. The reactions of cats of this breed are so inhibited that they, the only ones of all the felines, do not have time to turn on their feet during the fall. Otherwise, these cats are a real find, especially for families with children. Absolutely calm, reasonable, never lift a paw on the child, they will be happy to play with him and even look after him as the elders.
Ragdoll is treated with great love to his master. With these cats you can safely travel, walking them on a leash, you can move to different countries and cities, the only thing that really cares them is where the host is.
To other animals and people, ragdolls are very friendly, willingly allowed to enter their territory, play. In general, the concept of "their territory" these cats do not seem to exist, so they are hospitable and friendly to everyone around them.
Thanks to their kind nature, the ragdoll cats quickly gained popularity.
Cats ragdoll: care
These pets do not require special care. The wool practically does not fall down and is perfectly combed out, so the care will not require significant time. It is enough to comb the hair with a brush every week so that the pets look very well-groomed.
The only thing that can bring the cats of a ragdoll into a restless state is water. To water procedures, they are extremely negative, so it is recommended to swallow cats ragdoll as rarely as possible.
Cats ragdoll: food
Kittens of this breed are great lovers of delicious food. But at the same time they do not suffer from obesity, they are not particularly choosy in choosing food. Ragdoll easily agree with the diet that the host develops for them. The thing is that the development of a powerful bone system requires considerable energy expenditure, so by the time the growth of the skeleton is completed, the appetite of cats is gradually decreasing. But too much to reduce the portion is not worth it, because the ragdoll for his playful character is very heavy, and for any games they need to spend more energy than conventional cats.
