Polycarbonate greenhouse with own hands

The greenhouse on your site allows, first, much earlier to receive environmentally friendly vegetables on your table, and secondly, to enjoy the harvest from the beds much longer than on the open ground. That is why many summer residents decide to build their own greenhouse on the site. But the greenhouse - the structure of the frame, on which the film was pulled, as practice shows, will not last long, as it quickly wears out. A good option will be a greenhouse made of polycarbonate - a material that is strong, translucent, heat-insulating. But finished products cost a lot of money, so few land owners decide to purchase them. But there is a way out - to build a greenhouse made of polycarbonate with our own hands. Well, we'll tell you how to do it.

How to make a greenhouse of polycarbonate - the choice of material

For successful use of the greenhouse in the future it is important to find quality material. It is important to consider the thickness of the polycarbonate for the greenhouse. It should be at least 4 mm, the material thinner than this value will not be strong enough for the greenhouse. By the way, the lifespan of polycarbonate on the greenhouse is 10-15 years, provided the choice of quality material.

How to assemble a greenhouse from polycarbonate - the foundation

The very first step in assembling a greenhouse made of polycarbonate is, of course, the construction of a foundation. He makes them of different materials, but the most simple in the construction of the foundation are brick and timber. The brick foundation is very durable and will serve you for several decades. Initially, the cord and pegs make the markup on the site chosen under the greenhouse. Then dig up ditches up to 1 m deep, build a pillow of concrete or cement and then lay two or three layers of bricks. On top, the brick is covered with a waterproofing layer.

It is easier to collect a foundation under a greenhouse made of polycarbonate from a bar. The bar is first painted with a protective agent, and then installed along the perimeter on the supports.

Necessarily in any foundation anchor bolts for a skeleton are mounted.

Polycarbonate greenhouse - frame

The best material for the frame is the metal profile. Sometimes metal pipes are used. True, when working with them you need to be able to cook, and even find a welding machine. The metal profile is mounted by means of rivets or self-tapping screws. Scheme skeleton better to design on paper, denoting the door and window. The shape of the frame can be any - arched, in the form of a house with straight walls, sloping roof, etc. At a direct assembly the profile of the necessary length is cut, then the skeleton is collected by means of self-tapping screws and a screwdriver. If you have metal pipes, then they cut the bulgarian into the necessary pieces. Parts of the pipes are connected at an angle by the welding machine. Pay attention to the fact that the minimum step between the elements of the lattice is about 50 cm, not more. Due to this the construction will be stable.

Homemade greenhouse made of polycarbonate - carcass cladding

When the metal frame is installed on the foundation, you can proceed to fasten polycarbonate sheets. This procedure is carried out using self-tapping screws. And the sheet needs to be stacked, covering the previous sheet by 5-10 cm. By the way, the greenhouse will look neater if the self-tapping screw is screwed through a thermowave with a cap and a gasket. In addition, this design will not allow moisture and cold air to penetrate through the holes. Such a hermetic effect will have a tape made of galvanized steel on the mating from the outside and a perforated tape inside.

Caring for a greenhouse made of polycarbonate in the future consists in the timely disinfection and cleaning of the structure in the fall with the help of special tools. In order to avoid corrosion on the metal frame, it must be painted with a primer and only then with paint.
