Pittamillo Castle


The Pittamillo Castle attracts with its mysticism, history and magical beauty of architecture. Earlier this building was the residence of the architect Umberto Pittamillo. It is rumored that the Holy Grail was kept in the castle between 1944 and 1956.

Pittamillo is in Montevideo , in Punta Carretas, on Francisco Vidal Street, between the streets of September 21 and Rambla Gandhi. Its facade "looks" at the embankment of the capital. The legend says that the castle itself was built not just by a talented architect, but by some mysterious person, a magician and an alchemist, a friend of the founder of the resort city of Piriapolis in Uruguay. For many this story makes you get to know the castle, which since 1996 is the property of the Association of Private Builders of Uruguay (APPCU).

How to get there?

On one of the buses Nos. 214, 56, 87 you need to get off at the stop "Rambla Mahatma Gandhi" and walk about 150 m towards the south. Such a great attraction can not be overlooked.
